In the past twenty years hundreds of infants and young children have died after being left in vehicles, usually by accident. When turning the vehicle off, drivers of the Celestiq are reminded to check the back seat if they opened the rear door before starting out. The Taycan doesn’t offer a back seat reminder.

To provide maximum traction and stability on all roads, Full-Time Four-Wheel Drive is standard on the Celestiq. But it costs extra on the Taycan.

The Cadillac Celestiq’s rear backup camera has a standard washer for maintaining a clear view under various conditions. In contrast, the Porsche Taycan does not offer a rear camera washer, meaning its effectiveness relies on manual cleaning by the user when necessary.

Both the Celestiq and the Taycan have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front and rear seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, driver alert monitors and available night vision systems.

The Cadillac Celestiq weighs 808 to 1370 pounds more than the Porsche Taycan. The NHTSA advises that heavier cars are much safer in collisions than their significantly lighter counterparts.

Cadillac’s powertrain warranty covers the Celestiq 2 years and 20,000 miles longer than Porsche covers the Taycan. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 6 years or 70,000 miles. Coverage on the Taycan ends after only 4 years or 50,000 miles.

There are almost 3 times as many Cadillac dealers as there are Porsche dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Celestiq’s warranty.

The Celestiq’s electric motors produces 253 more horsepower (655 vs. 402) and 344 lbs.-ft. more torque (646 vs. 302) than the Taycan Performance Battery’s standard electric motor. The Celestiq’s electric motors produces 253 more horsepower (655 vs. 402) and 215 lbs.-ft. more torque (646 vs. 431) than the Taycan 4 Performance Battery’s standard electric motors. The Celestiq’s electric motors produces 226 more horsepower (655 vs. 429) and 337 lbs.-ft. more torque (646 vs. 309) than the Taycan Performance Battery Plus’ standard electric motor.

For better traction, the Celestiq has larger tires than the Taycan (285/35R23 vs. 225/55R19). The Celestiq’s optional tires are larger than the largest tires available on the Taycan (285/35R23 vs. 265/35R21).

The Celestiq’s standard tires provide better handling because they have a lower 40 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Taycan’s standard 55 series front and 45 series rear tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Celestiq has standard 22-inch wheels. Smaller 19-inch wheels are standard on the Taycan. The Celestiq’s optional 23-inch wheels are larger than the 21-inch wheels optional on the Taycan.

The Celestiq has a standard easy tire fill system. When inflating the tires, the vehicle’s integrated tire pressure sensors keep track of the pressure as the tires fill and tell the driver when the tires are inflated to the proper pressure. The Taycan doesn’t offer vehicle monitored tire inflation.

Having a flat tire is dangerous, inconvenient and expensive. The self-sealing tires standard on the Celestiq can automatically seal most punctures up to 3/16 of an inch, effectively preventing most flat tires. The Taycan doesn’t offer self-sealing tires.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Celestiq’s wheelbase is 16 inches longer than on the Taycan (130.2 inches vs. 114.2 inches).

For excellent aerodynamics, the Celestiq has standard flush composite headlights. The Taycan has recessed headlights that spoil its aerodynamic shape and create extra drag.

The Celestiq uses computer-generated active noise cancellation to help remove annoying noise and vibration from the passenger compartment, especially at low frequencies. The Taycan doesn’t offer active noise cancellation.

The Celestiq has 2.5 inches more front headroom, 4 inches more front legroom, 3.2 inches more front shoulder room, 1.9 inches more rear headroom, 6.5 inches more rear legroom and 5.4 inches more rear shoulder room than the Taycan.

For enhanced passenger comfort on long trips the Celestiq’s rear seats recline. The Taycan’s rear seats don’t recline.

The Celestiq has a much larger trunk than the Taycan (31.6 vs. 17.3 cubic feet).

If the windows are left open on the Celestiq the driver can close them all from a distance using the remote. On a hot day the driver can also lower the windows the same way. The driver of the Taycan can only operate the windows from inside the vehicle, with the ignition on.

The Celestiq’s power window, power lock, power mirror and cruise control switches are lit from behind, making them plainly visible and easier to operate at night. The Taycan’s cruise control switches are unlit, making them difficult to find at night and operate safely.

To shield the driver and front passenger’s vision over a larger portion of the windshield and side windows, the Celestiq has standard extendable sun visors. The Taycan doesn’t offer extendable visors.

Standard air conditioned seats in the front and rear seats keep the Celestiq’s passengers comfortable and take the sting out of hot leather in summer. The Taycan doesn’t offer air-conditioned seats in the rear.

The Celestiq has standard massaging front seats. Massaging front seats cost extra on the Taycan. The Celestiq also has standard massaging rear seats in order to maximize comfort and eliminate fatigue on long trips. Massaging rear seats aren’t available in the Taycan.

The Celestiq’s standard oscillating air vents move back and forth and distribute air evenly inside the vehicle, making everyone more comfortable. The Taycan doesn’t offer oscillating vents.
