Both the CT4-V and GR Corolla have child safety locks to prevent children from opening the rear doors. The CT4-V has power child safety locks, allowing the driver to activate and deactivate them from the driver's seat and to know when they're engaged. The GR Corolla’s child locks have to be individually engaged at each rear door with a manual switch. The driver can’t know the status of the locks without opening the doors and checking them.

The Cadillac CT4-V has standard driver and front passenger side knee airbags mounted low on the dashboard. These airbags help prevent the driver and front passenger from sliding under their seatbelts or the main frontal airbags; this keeps them better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. Knee airbags also help keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The GR Corolla doesn’t offer a front passenger side knee airbag.

Over 200 people are killed each year when backed over by motor vehicles. The CT4-V Auto has standard Reverse Automatic Braking that uses rear sensors to monitor for objects to the rear and automatically applies the brakes to prevent a collision. The GR Corolla doesn’t offer backup collision prevention brakes.

The CT4-V (except Blackwing) offers an optional HD Surround Vision to allow the driver to see objects all around the vehicle on a screen. The GR Corolla only offers a rear monitor and front and rear parking sensors that beep or flash a light. That doesn’t help with obstacles to the sides.

Both the CT4-V and the GR Corolla have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning and available all wheel drive.

The CT4-V comes with a full 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car. The GR Corolla’s 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty expires 1 year or 14,000 miles sooner.

Cadillac’s powertrain warranty covers the CT4-V 1 year and 10,000 miles longer than Toyota covers the GR Corolla. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 6 years or 70,000 miles. Coverage on the GR Corolla ends after only 5 years or 60,000 miles.

The CT4-V’s corrosion warranty is 1 year longer than the GR Corolla’s (6 vs. 5 years).

The CT4-V’s standard 2.7 turbo 4-cylinder produces 25 more horsepower (325 vs. 300) and 85 lbs.-ft. more torque (380 vs. 295) than the GR Corolla’s 1.6 turbo 3-cylinder. The CT4-V Blackwing’s standard 3.6 turbo V6 produces 172 more horsepower (472 vs. 300) and 150 lbs.-ft. more torque (445 vs. 295) than the GR Corolla’s 1.6 turbo 3-cylinder.

As tested in Car and Driver the CT4-V Blackwing 3.6 turbo V6 is faster than the Toyota GR Corolla (manual transmissions tested):

An engine control system that can shut down some of the engine’s cylinders helps improve the CT4-V’s fuel efficiency. The GR Corolla doesn’t offer a system that can shut down part of the engine.

In heavy traffic or at stoplights the CT4-V (except Blackwing)’s engine automatically turns off when the vehicle is stopped, saving fuel and reducing pollution. The engine is automatically restarted when the driver gets ready to move again. If the conditions warrant or the driver wishes, the system can be manually disabled at any time for the duration of a trip. The GR Corolla doesn’t offer an automatic engine start/stop system.

The CT4-V has 4.2 gallons more fuel capacity than the GR Corolla (17.4 vs. 13.2 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

The CT4-V has a standard cap-less fueling system. The fuel filler is automatically opened when the fuel nozzle is inserted and automatically closed when it’s removed. This eliminates the need to unscrew and replace the cap and it reduces fuel evaporation, which causes pollution. The GR Corolla doesn’t offer a cap-less fueling system.

The Cadillac CT4-V comes standard with an automatic transmission, for driver comfort, especially in the city. Automatic costs extra on the GR Corolla.

A 10-speed automatic is standard on the Cadillac CT4-V, for better acceleration and lower engine speed on the highway. Only an eight-speed automatic is available for the GR Corolla.

For better stopping power the CT4-V Blackwing’s brake rotors are larger than those on the GR Corolla:

For better traction, the CT4-V Blackwing’s tires are larger than the largest tires available on the GR Corolla (F:255/35R18 & R:275/35R18 vs. 235/40R18).

The CT4-V’s optional tires provide better handling because they have a lower 35 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the GR Corolla’s 40 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the CT4-V offers optional 19-inch wheels. The GR Corolla’s largest wheels are only 18-inches.

The CT4-V has a standard easy tire fill system. When inflating the tires, the vehicle’s integrated tire pressure sensors keep track of the pressure as the tires fill and tell the driver when the tires are inflated to the proper pressure. The GR Corolla doesn’t offer vehicle monitored tire inflation.

Changing a flat tire near traffic can be dangerous and inconvenient. The run-flat tires available on the CT4-V can be driven up to 50 miles without any air pressure, allowing you to drive to a service station for a repair. The GR Corolla doesn’t offer run-flat tires.

The CT4-V offers an available driver-adjustable suspension system. It allows the driver to choose between an extra-supple ride, reducing fatigue on long trips, or a sport setting, which allows maximum control for tricky roads. The GR Corolla’s suspension doesn’t offer adjustable shock absorbers.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the CT4-V’s wheelbase is 5.4 inches longer than on the GR Corolla (109.3 inches vs. 103.9 inches).

The CT4-V’s front to rear weight distribution is more even (52.3% to 47.7%) than the GR Corolla’s (58.4% to 41.6%). This gives the CT4-V more stable handling and braking.

The CT4-V Blackwing handles at 1.04 G’s, while the GR Corolla pulls only .94 G’s of cornering force in a Car and Driver skidpad test.

The CT4-V has 5.4 cubic feet more passenger volume than the GR Corolla (90 vs. 84.6).

The CT4-V has .4 inches more front legroom, 1.3 inches more front shoulder room, 3.5 inches more rear legroom and 7 inches more rear hip room than the GR Corolla.

The CT4-V’s standard rear seats fold to accommodate long and bulky cargo. The GR Corolla Morizo Edition doesn’t offer folding rear seats.

A standard locking glovebox (which can’t be accessed with the valet key) keeps your small valuables safer in the CT4-V. The GR Corolla doesn’t offer locking storage for small valuables.

The CT4-V uses gas struts to support the hood for easier service access. The GR Corolla uses a prop rod to support its heavy hood. It takes two hands to open the hood and set the prop rod, the prop rod gets in the way during maintenance and service, and the prop rod could be knocked out, causing the heavy hood to fall on the person maintaining or servicing the car.

The engine in the CT4-V is mounted longitudinally (North-South), instead of sideways, as in the GR Corolla. This makes it easier to service and maintain, because the accessory belts are in front.

When two different drivers share the CT4-V, the memory system makes it convenient for both. Each setting activates different, customized memories for the driver’s seat position, steering wheel position (with optional power wheel adjuster) and outside mirror angle. The GR Corolla doesn’t offer a memory system.

The CT4-V’s standard easy entry system glides the driver’s seat back, making it easier for the driver to get in and out. The GR Corolla doesn’t offer an easy entry system.

The CT4-V’s power parking brake sets with one touch and releases with one touch or automatically. The GR Corolla has a lever-type parking brake that has to be strenuously raised to engage properly. It has to be lifted up more and a button depressed to release it.

The CT4-V’s standard Keyless Access allow you to unlock the doors from any outside door handle, open the trunk, and start the engine, all without removing the key from the pocket or purse. Smart Key System standard on the GR Corolla doesn’t offer a sensor on the rear doors, so you’ll have to reach a front handle to unlock the rear door.

The CT4-V’s rain-sensitive wipers adjust their speed and turn on and off automatically based on the amount of rainfall on the windshield. This allows the driver to concentrate on driving without constantly adjusting the wipers. The GR Corolla’s manually variable intermittent wipers have to be constantly adjusted.

To help drivers avoid possible obstacles, the CT4-V offers optional cornering lights to illuminate around corners when the turn signals are activated. The GR Corolla doesn’t offer cornering lights.

When the CT4-V is put in reverse, both rearview mirrors tilt from their original position. This gives the driver a better view of the curb during parallel parking maneuvers. Shifting out of reverse puts the mirrors into their original positions. The GR Corolla’s mirrors don’t automatically adjust for backing.

The CT4-V’s standard rear and side view mirrors have an automatic dimming feature. These mirrors can be set to automatically darken quickly when headlights shine on them, keeping following vehicles from blinding or distracting the driver. The GR Corolla offers an automatic rear view mirror, but its side mirrors don’t dim.

Optional air-conditioned seats in the CT4-V keep the driver and front passenger comfortable and take the sting out of hot seats in Summer. The GR Corolla doesn’t offer air-conditioned seats.

The CT4-V has a standard heated steering wheel to take the chill out of steering on extremely cold winter days before the car heater warms up. A heated steering wheel is only available on the GR Corolla Premium Plus.

The CT4-V has a standard center folding armrest for the driver and front passenger. A center armrest helps combat driver fatigue. The GR Corolla doesn’t offer a front seat center armrest.

The CT4-V offers optional massaging front seats in order to maximize comfort and eliminate fatigue on long trips. Massaging seats aren’t available in the GR Corolla.

Both the CT4-V and the GR Corolla offer rear vents. For greater rear passenger comfort, the CT4-V has standard rear air conditioning vents to keep rear occupants cool in summer or warm in winter. The GR Corolla doesn’t offer rear air conditioning vents, only heat vents.

The Cadillac CT4-V has a standard Homelink wireless remote control system for garage door operation and device management, conveniently located on the overhead console. Homelink® eliminates the need for separate garage door openers and associated risks of losing, breaking, or having dead batteries. Toyota charges extra for Homelink® on the GR Corolla.

The CT4-V is available in both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations. The GR Corolla doesn’t offer a two-wheel drive configuration.

Consumer Reports® recommends the Cadillac CT4-V, based on reliability, safety and performance.

The CT4-V Blackwing was chosen as a Car and Driver’s “Top Ten” for 2025 and 3 more times in the last 4 years. The GR Corolla hasn’t been picked since 2023, and the GR Corolla has only been chosen once.
