Compare the2026 Cadillac XT5VS 2025 Maserati Grecale

The XT5 (except Luxury’s) optional pre-crash front seatbelts will tighten automatically in the event the vehicle detects an impending crash, improving protection against injury significantly. The Grecale doesn’t offer pre-crash pretensioners.

The XT5’s standard lane departure warning system alerts a temporarily inattentive driver when the vehicle begins to leave its lane and gently nudges the vehicle back towards its lane. A lane departure warning system costs extra on the Grecale.

The Cadillac XT5 comes with a standard HD Surround Vision with a rear camera washer to provide all-weather visibility, regardless of road dirt or grime, while the Maserati Grecale doesn’t offer a camera washer, requiring manual cleaning.

Both the XT5 and the Grecale have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, rearview cameras, available all wheel drive, blind spot warning systems, around view monitors and rear cross-path warning.

Cadillac’s powertrain warranty covers the XT5 2 years and 20,000 miles longer than Maserati covers the Grecale. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 6 years or 70,000 miles. Coverage on the Grecale ends after only 4 years or 50,000 miles.

The XT5’s corrosion warranty is 2 years and unlimited miles longer than the Grecale’s (6/unlimited vs. 4/50,000).

There are almost 6 times as many Cadillac dealers as there are Maserati dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the XT5’s warranty.

A reliable vehicle saves its owner time, money and trouble. Nobody wants to be stranded or have to be without a vehicle while it’s being repaired. Consumer Reports rates the XT5’s reliability 18 points higher than the Grecale.

J.D. Power and Associates rated the XT5 first among midsize premium suvs in their 2025 Initial Quality Study. The Grecale isn’t in the top three in its category.

On the EPA test cycle the XT5 gets better mileage than the Grecale running its gasoline engine:

To lower fuel costs and make buying fuel easier, the Cadillac XT5 uses regular unleaded gasoline (premium recommended with the 2.0 turbo 4-cylinder engine for maximum performance). The Grecale requires premium, which can cost on average about 84.9 cents more per gallon.

The XT5 FWD’s standard fuel tank has 2.5 gallons more fuel capacity than the Grecale (19.4 vs. 16.9 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups. The XT5 AWD’s standard fuel tank has 4.8 gallons more fuel capacity than the Grecale (21.7 vs. 16.9 gallons).

The XT5 has a standard cap-less fueling system. The fuel filler is automatically opened when the fuel nozzle is inserted and automatically closed when it’s removed. This eliminates the need to unscrew and replace the cap and it reduces fuel evaporation, which causes pollution. The Grecale doesn’t offer a cap-less fueling system.

A nine-speed automatic is standard on the Cadillac XT5, for better acceleration and lower engine speed on the highway. Only an eight-speed automatic is available for the Grecale.

The Cadillac XT5’s wheels have 6 lugs for longer wheel bearing life, less chance of rotor warping and greater strength. The Maserati Grecale only has 5 wheel lugs per wheel.

The XT5 has a standard space-saver spare tire so you can replace a flat tire and drive to have the flat repaired or replaced. A spare tire isn’t available on the Grecale; it requires you to depend on roadside assistance and your vehicle will have to be towed.

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the XT5 is 1.2 inches wider in the front than the average track on the Grecale.

For better maneuverability, the XT5’s turning circle is 1.7 feet tighter than the Grecale Folgore’s (38.7 feet vs. 40.4 feet). The XT5 w/20” wheels’ turning circle is 1.8 feet tighter than the Grecale’s (39 feet vs. 40.8 feet).

The Cadillac XT5 may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 200 to 1150 pounds less than the Maserati Grecale.

The front grille of the XT5 2.0 Turbo uses electronically controlled shutters to close off airflow and reduce drag when less engine cooling is needed. This helps improve highway fuel economy. The Grecale doesn’t offer active grille shutters.

The XT5 has .1 inches more front headroom, .7 inches more front hip room, .5 inches more front shoulder room, 2.4 inches more rear legroom, .2 inches more rear hip room and .4 inches more rear shoulder room than the Grecale.

For enhanced passenger comfort on long trips the XT5’s rear seats recline. The Grecale’s rear seats don’t recline.

The XT5 has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat up than the Grecale with its rear seat up (30 vs. 18.9 cubic feet). The XT5 has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat folded than the Grecale with its rear seat folded (63 vs. 34.1 cubic feet).

The XT5’s standard Keyless Access allow you to unlock the doors from any outside door handle, open the cargo door, and start the engine, all without removing the key from the pocket or purse. Extended Keyless Go standard on the Grecale doesn’t offer a sensor on the rear doors, so you’ll have to reach a front handle to unlock the rear door.

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the XT5 has a standard rear fixed intermittent wiper with a full on position. The rear wiper standard on the Grecale only has an intermittent setting, so in a hard rain visibility isn’t as good.

The XT5 Premium Luxury/Sport’s Automatic Parking Assist can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, starting and stopping automatically, with the driver only responsible for switching from reverse to drive. The Grecale doesn’t offer an automated parking system.

The XT5 is available in both front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive configurations. The Grecale doesn’t offer a two-wheel drive configuration.

Consumer Reports® recommends the Cadillac XT5, based on reliability, safety and performance. The Maserati Grecale isn't recommended.
