Safety

To help make backing out of a parking space safer, the Corvette’s optional Rear Cross Traffic Alert uses sensors in the rear to alert the driver to vehicles approaching from the side, helping the driver avoid collisions. The F80 doesn’t offer a rear cross-path warning system.

Both the Corvette and the F80 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, rearview cameras and available blind spot warning systems.

Warranty

Chevrolet’s powertrain warranty covers the Corvette 2 years longer than Ferrari covers the F80. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 5 years or 60,000 miles. Coverage on the F80 ends after only 3 years.

The Corvette’s corrosion warranty is 3 years longer than the F80’s (6 vs. 3 years).

There are over 68 times as many Chevrolet dealers as there are Ferrari dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Corvette’s warranty.

Reliability

J.D. Power and Associates rated the Corvette second among compact premium sporty cars in their 2025 Initial Quality Study. The F80 isn’t in the top three in its category.

Engine

The Corvette ZR1X’s standard 5.5 turbo V8 hybrid produces 66 more horsepower (1250 vs. 1184) than the F80’s 3.0 turbo V6 hybrid.

Fuel Economy and Range

An engine control system that can shut down some of the engine’s cylinders helps improve the Corvette 6.7 V8’s fuel efficiency. The F80 doesn’t offer a system that can shut down part of the engine.

The Corvette has 1.7 gallons more fuel capacity than the F80 (18.5 vs. 16.8 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

The Corvette has a standard cap-less fueling system. The fuel filler is automatically opened when the fuel nozzle is inserted and automatically closed when it’s removed. This eliminates the need to unscrew and replace the cap and it reduces fuel evaporation, which causes pollution. The F80 doesn’t offer a cap-less fueling system.

Brakes and Stopping

For better stopping power the Corvette ZR1 CCB’s front brake rotors are larger than those on the F80:

Tires and Wheels

The Corvette Z06/Grand Sport/ZR1’s 345/25R21 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 25 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the F80’s 30 series tires.

The Corvette has a standard easy tire fill system. When inflating the tires, the vehicle’s integrated tire pressure sensors keep track of the pressure as the tires fill and tell the driver when the tires are inflated to the proper pressure. The F80 doesn’t offer vehicle monitored tire inflation.

Changing a flat tire near traffic can be dangerous and inconvenient. The run-flat tires standard on the Corvette can be driven up to 50 miles without any air pressure, allowing you to drive to a service station for a repair. The F80 doesn’t offer run-flat tires.

Suspension and Handling

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Corvette’s wheelbase is 2.1 inches longer than on the F80 (107 inches vs. 104.9 inches).

Chassis

The Corvette is 8.3 inches shorter than the F80, making the Corvette easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The Corvette’s standard power retractable hardtop allows a seamless transition from an open car, to a completely sealed coupe. The F80 doesn’t offer a retractable hardtop.

The Corvette uses computer-generated active noise cancellation to help remove annoying noise and vibration from the passenger compartment, especially at low frequencies. The F80 doesn’t offer active noise cancellation.

Passenger Space

The Corvette has 10 cubic feet more passenger volume than the F80 (51 vs. 41).

Cargo Capacity

The Corvette Coupe has a much larger trunk than the F80 (12.6 vs. 1.2 cubic feet).

Servicing Ease

The Corvette uses gas struts to support the hood for easier service access. The F80 uses a prop rod to support its heavy hood. It takes two hands to open the hood and set the prop rod, the prop rod gets in the way during maintenance and service, and the prop rod could be knocked out, causing the heavy hood to fall on the person maintaining or servicing the car.

Ergonomics

The Corvette has a standard remote vehicle starting system, so the vehicle can be started from inside the driver's house. This allows the driver to comfortably warm up the engine before going out to the vehicle. The climate system will also automatically heat or cool the interior. The F80 doesn’t offer a remote starting system.

The Corvette offers an optional heads-up display that projects speed, tachometer, turn signal and navigation instruction readouts in front of the driver’s line of sight, allowing drivers to view information without diverting their eyes from the road. The F80 doesn’t offer a heads-up display.

The Corvette’s power mirror controls are mounted on the armrest for easy access. The F80’s power mirror controls are on the center console where they can’t be seen without the driver completely removing his eyes from the road.

On extremely cold winter days, the Corvette’s optional heated steering wheel provides comfort, allowing the driver to steer safely and comfortably before the car heater warms up. The F80 doesn’t offer a heated steering wheel.

The Corvette’s standard dual zone air conditioning allows the driver and front passenger to choose two completely different temperatures so people with different temperature preferences won’t have to compromise. This makes both the driver and front passenger as comfortable as possible. The F80 doesn’t offer dual zone air conditioning.

The Chevrolet Corvette stands out above the Ferrari F80 by offering not one, but two Qi-compatible phone chargers. This convenience helps travelers with multiple devices to keep powered up on-the-go. Wireless charging eliminates lost or cluttered charging cables and two of them provide more flexibility.

Model Availability

The Chevrolet Corvette comes in coupe and convertible bodystyles; the Ferrari F80 isn’t available as a convertible.

The Corvette is available in both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations. The F80 doesn’t offer a two-wheel drive configuration.
